A Reputation for Excellence
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine is committed to pushing the frontiers of veterinary medical education and providing our students with the foundation they need to pursue a successful career in veterinary medicine.
Here are just a few of the ways Ross maintains a reputation for excellence:
Curriculum
Ross thoroughly grounds you with a rigorous Pre-Clinical curriculum. In just 7 semesters (28 months) at our campus in St. Kitts, you’ll take the courses that will provide you with an essential foundation in structure and function as well as pathobiology.
Facilities
Learning is more effective and efficient when it’s supported by the right technology. This is particularly true when it comes to educating veterinarians who must learn to make judgments based on skilled observation of visual clues. At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, you’ll have the benefit of exceptional teaching and laboratory facilities including large and small animal surgery suites.
Faculty
Ultimately, what makes a veterinary school is the quality of its faculty. At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine you’ll benefit from a 49-person faculty with impeccable credentials as veterinarians, teachers and researchers. All of our faculty have D.V.M. or Ph.D.s, while some have both, and all of our faculty who treat patients are Board-Certified.
Clinical Training
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine is proud to be affiliated with 21 (out of a total of 28) American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools of veterinary medicine. This extensive network of affiliations makes it possible for our students to receive superior education while completing their clinical training in the United States. Our roster of affiliated institutions includes many of the top veterinary medical colleges in the country.
Licensing
Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine graduates are eligible to practice veterinary medicine in all 50 states, upon completion of requisite testing. Graduates of Ross University are eligible to participate in The Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) certification, which is necessary for licensure in most states. An ECFVG certificate is a prerequisite to sitting for most state licensing examinations and for meeting other requirements established by the licensing boards of the various states. New York State and Ohio do not require ECFVG certification for Ross University graduates.
