Inter-Library Loan Services (ILL)
Full inter-library loan services can be challenging due to our geographic location; however, the library offers a document delivery service if articles requested are in journals that are not in our journal collection. Journal articles not readily available in the library may be accessed within 24 hours by an inter-library loan system utilizing the Ariel software program.
Reference Services
Librarians will assist users in finding facts and other information on a particular topic and with database searching.
Library users may use the public terminals or OPAC:
1. To search the online catalog to identify and locate items in the library’s collection.
2. To gain Internet access to veterinary related web-sites and to the National Library of Medicine (NLM).
Computing Services
Printing/Scanning
Students have access to various print kiosks throughout campus, including one in the Library. Student laptops may be configured for the student network to print directly to these kiosks. Scanners are available in the Library for student use.
CD Burning
The Library offers a self-service CD burning capability. This service enables you to copy all data stored in your personal folder and any APPROVED data within the “Student Apps” folder to a CD. Digitized movies and all data located on the WALRUS Domain computers are prohibited from being duplicated. If you need any assistance, ask a member of the Computer Lab staff.
Below are a few helpful tips for you to keep in mind when burning CDs:
- Use a soft-tipped permanent marker to label your CDs.
- We recommend buying CD cases to store your CDs, or a CD carrying case.
- Only use CD-Rs unless you intend to erase the data. CD-RWs take longer to burn.
- You can add more data to a CD-R, once you use the same burning software.
- Bring your own CDs. The department will not provide or sell any cds to students.
