Library

The mission of the library is to support the teaching, research and service of all members of the School of Veterinary Medicine community. The library is located within the Learning Resource Center along with the Computer Laboratory/Testing Center and the 24-hour Reading Room.

The mission of the Learning Resource Center:

  • The Learning Resource Center provides the Ross Community with academic and support services supplemental to the classroom experience.
  • To develop a collection of books, journals and e-resources that will meet the information and research needs of the students and faculty.
  • To provide reference services to support the information needs of students and faculty.
  • To provide a facility and environment that promotes studying and conducting library research.

The library occupies more than 7,000 square feet. Facilities include individual work stations which allow access to the library’s catalog or OPAC, Internet browsing, and database searching.  With nearly 6,000 volumes of print materials and more than 100 active serial titles, the breadth of the collection is exceptional. These collections are complemented by access to a growing array of online resources.

The library's main reading room can accommodate 139 persons. There are 28 large tables with four chairs each and 27 study carrels.
