Dean's Message

Dr. DeYoung

Welcome to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM). Established in 1982, the School of Veterinary Medicine is more than a quarter-century old and has partnered with US veterinary schools to graduate over 2,600 veterinarians—nearly all of whom have entered the workplace in North America. Our greatest achievement and source of pride is the extraordinary accomplishments and success of our graduates. Our motivated students and talented faculty have made the School an exciting and successful institution. Our guiding force is our commitment to our TEACH values: Teamwork and communication, Employee focus, Accountability and integrity, Continuous improvement, and Helping our students achieve their goals.

I invite you to share RUSVM’s remarkable success via our website.  Read our mission statement and objectives to learn about our direction. Our educational goals and objectives are specifically defined in the RUSVM Educational Plan, which describes the ideal attributes and clinical competencies of a Ross graduate. Explore our Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Clinical Skills Laboratory that provide opportunities for students to develop clinical competencies during their preclinical curriculum. Visit our affiliate schools’ websites to learn more about the profession and the programs and opportunities they provide to Ross students.

RUSVM offers a variety of opportunities and experiences for students to broaden their education through externships, preceptorships, and hands-on research opportunities. Students who enroll in the program have the opportunity to work with and learn from basic science and clinical faculty recognized for their commitment to student education and advancing veterinary knowledge.  Also, learn how living and learning abroad in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis can enhance your life skills and success as a veterinarian.

I encourage you to visit our website often and learn about Ross University, the admissions process, our academic program, faculty, research programs, students and alumni events.

Sincerely,

David J. DeYoung, DVM
