Externships

During the clinical year, you will be allowed to participate in externships (this may take place on or off-campus of your affiliate school). It is advisable to use this time to investigate areas of special interest to you (eg, ophthalmology, cardiology, exotic animals, research, lab animal medicine, etc.) or to strengthen an area of weakness. Externships may be conducted anywhere in the world (excluding the Caribbean) as long as our affiliate school approves them.  To be more specific: you will not be allowed to conduct an externship in the Caribbean. Although acceptance of board and room is allowed, students are not permitted to accept payment for externship work.

Cornell University, Colorado State University & Kansas State University: students attending these schools need to submit their plans for externships to Dr. Robert Mason (rmason@rossu.edu), for approval.
