Ceremony Preparation

Academic Regalia

Students must purchase a Doctoral tam, gown, hood and tassel through Herff Jones, Inc. The price for buying the set is approximately $65 plus applicable state tax and shipping and handling of $16. Please note that you must order the tam, gown and tassel set and the hood set from the Herff Jones website. This is not handled directly by Ross University.

Please complete the order form appropriately with your height, weight and school information (indicating whether you are a Medical or Veterinary graduate). For further information regarding the ordering of your graduation regalia, please contact Paul Reilly by email at pjreill@aol.com. Be sure to order by the deadline (May 11, 2012) to ensure that you receive your regalia in time for the ceremony. The Herff Jones website will shut down between May 12 and May 14. For orders between May 14 and May 22, the domestic rush shipping charge will be $37. For international shipping, additional charges may apply. After May 22, no orders can be made without prior arrangements with Paul Reilly for pickup at the ceremony. If you choose to pick up regalia at the ceremony, the cost will be $100, cash only.

For the School of Veterinary Medicine, the gown will be all black. The hood will be black with blue and tan satin to represent Ross and grey velvet to represent the field of veterinary medicine. Tams will be black with a grey tassel. Graduates who earn honors will receive a gold tassel upon check-in at graduation.

You will not be allowed to walk in the ceremony if you do not have a tam, gown, hood and tassel. It is your responsibility to have these with you for the ceremony.
 

Ceremony Attendance

You will receive an email communication on or around March 1, 2012, requesting your confirmation of attendance at the 2012 graduation ceremony. If you plan to attend, please be sure to respond appropriately. All communications will be sent to your contact information on file with the University.

Guest Seating

Tickets are not required for graduates or guests attending the 2012 ceremony. All guest seating is general admission. There will be maps available at each entrance to aid your guests in selecting a good seat. 
 

RUSVM Graduation Reception

To make the commencement festivities even more exciting, the Office of Institutional Advancement & Alumni Relations will be hosting a special reception for graduates from the School of Veterinary Medicine on the evening prior to the commencement ceremony. Several faculty and staff members from our campus in St. Kitts will be in attendance, and we hope it will be a wonderful opportunity for you to catch up with old friends and mentors in preparation for the main event. More details about this event will be made available in the coming months.

Graduation Announcements

Graduation announcements serve as a formal declaration of your graduation from Ross University. They can be ordered by visiting the Jostens website. Ordering for Graduaton 2012 will be available on October 1, 2011. Please enter the graduation announcements section of the Jostens website and select Ross University from the list of schools. You will see all of the products available for Ross University graduates. Announcements are ordered directly from Jostens and not from Ross University. Please note that announcements are not invitations to the ceremony, but merely a way to notify your family and friends of your accomplishment.

Graduation Portraits

Professional photographers from Island Photography will be on hand to take photos as you receive your diploma. They will also take individul portraits following the receipt of your diploma. The seating card you receive at the ceremony will include an address and email address where Island Photography will send ceremony portrait information following graduation day. You will be able to purchase these photos as well as a composite class portrait directly from Island Photography. If you would like to receive a direct link to the photos, visit the Island Photography website to register. You may register several emails to allow all of your friends and family to receive a direct link to this event. Images will be posted within 72 hours of the ceremony. All inquiries should be made to Island Photography at (800)869-0908. Purchase is optional.

Diploma Frames

Ross University diploma frames can be purchased through Framing Success. Click on the entrance for consumers and select Ross University. At this point you will be able to see all of the options for ordering a Ross University diploma frame.
