Dr. Guy St. Jean obtained his DMV from the University of Montreal, Canada, and his MS from Ohio State University. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. His focus is in large animal surgery.

Dr. St. Jean is widely published with more than 100 articles in journals, technical reports, and bulletins. He has authored three textbooks and 60 book chapters.

Although the focus of his career has been in educating future veterinarians, Dr. St. Jean was in private practice for a number of years after receiving his veterinary degree. As a professor, Dr. St. Jean has taught at the University of Montreal, Ohio State University, Kansas State University, and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. While at Kansas State University, in addition to being an instructor, Dr. St. Jean also conducted research. Teaching has been rewarding for Dr. St. Jean, as he has the opportunity to see his students grow through their “ah ha” moments and utilize what they’ve learned as they move through their veterinary program.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. St. Jean is the associate dean for academic affairs (which encompasses Student Affairs) at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He advises students in diverse areas ranging from academia, to US licensing procedures, to postgraduate residency opportunities.
