Welcome to the School of Veterinary Medicine

Thank you for your interest in Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM). We understand that choosing a veterinary school is one of the most important decisions of your life. This website was designed to provide you with information about our educational program leading to a DVM degree, descriptions of our facilities and curriculum, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Since our founding in 1982, RUSVM has graduated over 2,400 veterinarians. Ross University maintains a technologically advanced campus in St. Kitts, part of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean. At our campus, you will find yourself challenged by a broad-based curriculum that provides the foundation for an excellent education and entry into a variety of career pathways in veterinary medicine. The seven-semester pre-clinical curriculum is enhanced by hands-on clinical experience to help prepare you for the final year of clinical training at one of our affiliated veterinary schools in the United States. Our faculty have outstanding credentials in teaching and research and share a passion for educating the veterinarians of tomorrow. Our faculty selected Ross University because of their unique love of teaching.

Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine is proud to be affiliated with 22 (out of a total of 28) American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools of veterinary medicine. This extensive network of affiliations makes it possible for our students to receive superior education while completing their clinical training in the United States. Our roster of affiliated institutions includes many of the top veterinary schools in the country.

RUSVM graduates are eligible to practice veterinary medicine in all 50 States, Canada, and Puerto Rico upon completion of the requisite licensing requirements.

At RUSVM, our approach is to look at applicants holistically. Yes, we consider your GRE score and GPA. But we also look at your overall academic performance in context. What are your strengths and weaknesses as a student? As a person? Is your desire to care for animals a calling? How have you put that calling into practice? What kinds of experiences have you had that will make you a better veterinarian?

To thrive as a profession, veterinary medicine needs many different kinds of people: general practitioners, specialists, researchers, administrators and more.

In short, there’s plenty of room for people who are passionate about veterinary medicine. At Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, we’re committed to finding those students who have that passion.  If that’s you, we want to know more about you.

If you have any questions, please contact our office by phone (877-ROSS-EDU) or email (Admissions@RossU.edu). We look forward to the prospect of having you as a member of our student body.
