Ross University School of Medicine is proud that its academic achievements have been recognized by a number of governmental jurisdictions and external agencies.

These Include:

  • the State of California, which has reviewed its academic program and found it acceptable, allowing the licensure of graduates from Ross University.
  • the State of New York, which has approved the School's educational program, allowing Ross University students to complete clinical training and residencies at hospitals throughout the state. Ross University is one of only a handful of non-U.S. medical schools to have achieved this approval. New York standards are considered to be substantially comparable to those of the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
  • the State of New Jersey, which has approved the School's educational program, permitting Ross University students to complete clinical training at approved hospitals in New Jersey.
  • the Florida Department of Education's Commission for Independent Education (CIE) , formerly the State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities, after a detailed review of the Ross University academic program, has granted the School of Medicine the appropriate level of licensure to conduct its clinical training program at Larkin Community Hospital, Miami, and the Greater Miami Health Education & Training Centers.   • the General Medical Council of Great Britain, which has granted the Ross University Doctor of Medicine degree Limited Registration status.
  • the Commonwealth of Dominica, which authorizes Ross University to confer the Doctor of Medicine degree. The United States Department of Education, through its National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA), has determined that the accreditation standards employed by the Dominica Medical Board are comparable to those used to evaluate programs leading to the M.D. degree in the United States by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. This determination assures that students enrolled at Ross University are eligible to participate in the U.S. Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program.
