Ross University-School of Medicine Preparatory School and Daycare Center
As part of Ross University’s service commitment to the faculty members and enrolled students, Ross University offers a United States - modeled Daycare Center and Preparatory School for their children.
Preparatory School:
The Ross University Preparatory School is a traditional, independent day school for children of faculty and enrolled students in pre-k through 8th grades. The Preparatory School has incorporated an independent school curriculum that reflects the educational standards in the US. Small multi - grade classrooms, highly qualified teachers, and a positive disciplined, safe and dynamic school climate are all features of the school. School hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with the parents providing supervision at lunch from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. An after school program is available in the Daycare Center from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. The cost for this service is $2.50 USD per hour.
Preparatory School Tuition:
The current tuition is $400 USD per semester for medical students, $450 USD per semester for faculty, and $2000 USD per semester for non - Ross University community members. The fee is subject to change.
Daycare Center:
To assist families with younger children, Ross University Preparatory School also operates a Daycare Center. This program is designed for infants and children up to three years of age and meets all US standards with its adult to child ratios. It focuses on playful activities (sing-a-longs, dancing, story time, puzzles, crafts, and games that stimulate language and literacy development). Services are on a full - time or part - time basis. Parents must provide a healthy snack for both the morning and afternoon sessions. School hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with the parents providing supervision at lunch from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. A nominal fee is charged if the Daycare Center supplies the child(ren)’s snacks. Parents involved in the part - time program will need to set up the days they use the Daycare Center in advance.
Daycare Tuition:
The current tuition is $600 USD per semester for medical students and faculty and $2000 USD per semester for non - Ross University community members. The current part - time tuition is $300 USD per semester for medical students and faculty and $1000 USD per semester for non - Ross University community members. The fee is subject to change.
Secondary School:
Ross University’s Preparatory School staff partners with the parents of secondary school-age children to meet their educational needs. Parents must enroll their child(ren) on-line with a US, Canadian, or local Dominican school. All students enrolled in an on-line program must work independently. Prior to the start of online coursework, a consultation with the school principal to review planning, associated costs, and documentation of previous school grades and placement is required.
*Please note: It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that his/her child completes all coursework. If additional assistance is needed, the Preparatory School principal and staff are available.

All children must be registered prior to the student’s arrival on campus to ensure appropriate staffing and class organization. Please email the completed registration form and call the principal Mary Grogan, B.A.M.Ed. at mgrogan@rossmed.edu.dm or (767) 255- 6363 / (767) 275-5376 to enroll your child(ren) in either the Preparatory School or Daycare Center. Be sure to include all necessary information for appropriate grade placement. Payment, previous report card(s) and any pertinent assessment documentation are due prior to the child(ren)’s start of school.Note:
Parents who have a child with special needs must consult with the principal prior to entering either program. Teacher’s aides are the financial responsibility of the parent as the school does not provide special education services.
