NRMP/ERAS Pre-Residency Planning Timeline

This timeline is a chronological listing of the steps you must complete, beginning between 12 and 16 months prior to the Match. It takes you through the residency process, up until you are ready to get licensed in the state of your residency program. For details on each process, please read the Pre-Residency Planning Guide, which will be available on MyRoss in late March for the following years' Match.

This timeline is designed to let you know exactly what you should be doing and when you should be completing all pre-residency processes, as it is arranged according to the time of year you should be completing each step. If you follow the timetable by reading and completing all the corresponding information and steps at the appropriate time of year, it should make for a smooth progression toward residency.
