School Laws Affecting Students and Parents

Parents and students should be aware of several laws affecting education, which govern the school’s procedures in certain areas. These are as follows:

Immunization

All students are required to present an immunization certificate signed by a health care provider stating that the student has received the diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, MMR. (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) immunizations required by law.

Only for specific medical reasons are students exempted from the immunization requirements.

Traditionally parties for K-6 students are held on or near Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. All other parties for K-6 students must be cleared through the principal’s office at least one week in advance of the party. All parties will be held in the late afternoon. The principal shall approve time and length of the party.
