Welcome promoting 4th semester students and new transfer students. The 12-week Advanced Introduction to Clinical Medicine (AICM) 5th semester runs through Monday, January 16, 2012 to Friday, April 6, 2012. As Monday, January 16, is a holiday to commemorate the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, classes will commence on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. 

Orientation, Registration & Comp Exam:

AICM Orientation and Registration is Tuesday, January 17, 2012 starting at 9 am. It will take place at the Miramar Cultural Center - Theater. The Miramar Cultural Center is located at 2400 Civic Center Place, Miramar, FL 33025. All students are required to attend this general orientation session.

All students (except transfer students with a USMLE Step 1 passing score) are required to report Friday, January 20, 2012, at 8 am for the Basic Science Comprehensive "Shelf" Exam (Comp). The exam will take place in the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center. The Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center is located at 250 Racquet Club Road, Weston, FL 33326.

*Important Information*

  • All promoting 4th semester students and incoming transfer students (who do not have a passing USMLE Step 1 score) will take the Basic Science Comprehensive “Shelf” Exam on Friday, January 20, 2012.
  • You will need to identify a means of transportation to clinical sites. If you have a vehicle and are traveling alone, or if you are sharing transportation with another student, please provide this information using the form provided in the "Registration Link" on the left. This information must be provided by Wednesday, January 11, 2012.
  • Please refer the “Welcome to AICM-Miramar” and “Preparing for Miramar” links for information about transportation and getting around Miramar, housing resources, immunization requirements, textbook and medical equipment requirements, and other information related to the upcoming semester.
  • The optional Spanish Language Track course will be offered in Miramar this semester. Please indicate whether or not you intend to participate in this course through the "Check-In" link. Additional information will be provided about this course during orientation.
  • All AICM students are now required to complete an Infection Control Training Course. The course must be a New York State Education Department approved course and must be completed before the end of semester. Further information will be provided about this course during orientation.
