Welcome to the Ross Pre-matriculation Course
On behalf of the entire Academic Success Team, welcome to Ross University! We are delighted that you will be joining us on one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. Our goal is to make your time at Ross as productive, successful, and stress-free as medical school can be.
We know you have done your “homework." You've spoken with friends, family, and other Ross students about what to expect and how to handle yourself. Sorting through all this information can be challenging, which is why we developed the Pre-matriculation Course.
Before you arrive, we suggest that you follow the links on this pre-matriculation website to get a feel for what will be coming your way. This brief course will give you insights into your current study patterns and help you decide on the changes you will need to make. Our first suggestion is to keep an open mind. Medical school is challenging and the techniques that worked for you in undergraduate and even graduate school may need to be fine-tuned in order to be successful in the medical school environment.
This interactive course will help prepare you to start your medical studies. Please make the effort to engage with the ideas, try the suggested exercises, and answer the questions posed within the text. In addition, we recommend that you keep track of how much time you spend on each section of the course and keep written answers to the exercises for future reference. We would also appreciate your feedback from the end of course survey.
Please send any comments or questions you may have to: prematric@rossmed.edu.dm.
We look forward to meeting you on campus!
