Dr. Yin studied Medicine in Beijing Medical University (School of Basic Medical Sciences, the Second School of Clinical Medicine, School of Stomatology) from 1991 to 1998, majoring in Oral Medicine. Due to the broad curriculum, she is clinically trained in different branches of Medicine such as General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Diagnostics, Ob& Gys, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology. Dr. Yin completed clinical training in Stomatology as well, which encompassed practice in Oral Surgery, Oral Internal Medicine and Oral Prosthodontics. Finding herself more interested in microscopic fields, she specialized in Oral Pathology.

Dr. Yin was awarded the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine (equivalent of MD) and Master of Medicine by Beijing Medical University. Upon graduation, she entered a PhD program (majoring in Oral Biology) at Boston University Medical Center School of Dental Medicine in the United States. She studied there until 2002 when she left the research program for personal reasons. She was awarded the MS degree by Boston University.

Her clinical research interests are precancerous lesions of oral mucosa, and the relation of salivary proteins to oral diseases. Dr. Yin currently works as an assistant professor in the Department of Anatomy, Ross University School of Medicine. With a broad spectrum of clinical trainings, she finds that teaching basic medical sciences is more than just fascinating. So far, she has been given the prestigious teaching award "Favorite First Semester Professor" on several occasions. Besides teaching, Dr. Yin enjoys making sketches.
