Dr. Vanessa Davis received her MBBS at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica and completed a medical internship at the Kingston Regional Hospital. Following her internship, she attended a Pediatric residency at the University of the West Indies and Cook County Hospital and earned a Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago and at the University of Florida.
After gaining practical experience as a Medical Officer at Princess Margaret Hospital and as an acting consultant in pediatrics, Dr. Davis came to Ross University in 2006 and is an assistant professor. She teaches ICM for third and fourth semester students, and lectures for the fifth semester and Problem Based Learning [PBL] class.
Dr. Davis holds a variety of board certifications: Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduate Certification, the American Board of Pediatrics, and the American Board of Pediatrics Sub-board of Endocrinology. She is also a Certified Clinical Bone Densitometrist through the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, and certified in Thyroid Ultrasounds and FNA Biopsy from the Endocrine University, Mayo Clinic. Davis holds an active license in the Commonwealth of Dominica and has previously held licenses in Jamaica and in the state of Illinois.
Dr. Davis is also involved with professional organizations such as: American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society. She serves as a principal investigator and co-investigator in two research projects through the Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation.
