Ross Alumni Reunion Dinner at Brimstone Hill
- Reminisce and connect with friends, faculty, and peers at one of St. Kitts' most breathtaking locations!
Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of historical, cultural and architectural significance: a monument to the ingenuity of the British military engineers who designed it and to the skill, strength and endurance of the African slaves who built and maintained it. One of the best preserved historical fortifications in the Americas, it is located on the island of St. Kitts in the Federation of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis in the Eastern Caribbean. The view from here includes Montserrat and Nevis to the southeast; Saba and St. Eustatius to the northwest; and St. Barths and St. Maarten to the north. Nature trails snake through the tangle of surrounding hardwood forest and savanna (a fine spot to catch the green vervet monkeys -- inexplicably brought by the French and now outnumbering the residents -- skittering about).
You'll arrive at Brimstone in time to enjoy the area while catching an unforgettable sunset. Take some photos with old and new friends as the evening settles in.
Here we'll savor a sumptuous dinner and dance to the sounds of a steel pan band while being entertained by masquerade dancers and stilt walkers. Don't take your eyes off the sky as we end the night with an impressive display.
Closing Reception at Reggae Beach
- From the owners of the famed Turtle Beach we bring you Reggae Beach. A casual and fun beach area and restaurant, you'll feel like you've been coming to this cozy spot for years…and will want to return for years to come. This is your time to relax and enjoy the Caribbean sunset and hospitality. With hot entertainment on hand you may just find yourself dancing in the sand!
Hash Run/Walk for Charity
- Join Ross students, faculty, staff, and local Kittians on this Hash Run. Ross runners will set the trail for runners and one for walkers. Enjoy the beautiful trail as you run or walk to benefit local animal protection groups. At the end of the trail enjoy refreshments and light fare as the sun goes down. It's a popular tradition on the island and draws runners and walkers from all "Walks!"

What is P.A.W.S.?
- P.A.W.S. (People for Animal Welfare on St. Kitts) was started in December
2000 through the collaboration of a few veterinary students at Ross
Univsersity and concerned residents of St Kitts, West Indies. It was our
vision to change the way animals on St. Kitts were treated, to ensure they
were given love and proper care, and to try and decrease the overwheling
population of unwanted animals.
- Driving down the streets in St. Kitts, it is common to see homeless dogs and
cats wandering down the side of the road, starving and searching for food.
Many of them are emaciated, beaten, burned, poisoned and hit by cars. It is
the goal of P.A.W.S. to change this.
- P.A.W.S. provides financial help to the people of St. Kitts by offering cost
assisted spay/neuter programs, food donations, and simple medical care such
as vaccines and deworming. We are trying to educate the people on basic pet
care and the benefits of spaying and neutering their animals. We provide
shampoo, flea and tick products, and supplies such as collars and leashes to
those who cannot afford it.
- P.A.W.S. has a network of students who act as fosters and provide these
animals with a loving, safe environment to live in until they get adopted.
While in foster care, these animals are given baths, proper food and water,
treatment for intestinal parasites, vaccines, Heartworm tests, are placed on
heartworm preventattive and are spayed or neutered. These animals are given
the love they never recieved but always deserved. Upon adoption, the
prospective new 'parents' are required to fill out an adoption form
indicating that they agree to comply with P.A.W.S. regulations. House
inspections are also done to ensure a proper environment for these wonderful
animals.
- P.A.W.S. is 100% non-profit and relies on various fundraisers and donations
to ensure that we can continue to help the animals who so desperately need
it. Despite all of our success, we still have a long way to go
