School of Veterinary Medicine Facts
- Known as one of the top veterinary schools in the Caribbean, Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) was founded in 1982 and celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2007.
- RUSVM is fully accredited by the by the St. Christopher & Nevis Accreditation Board, Ministry of Education to confer the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine on its students who successfully complete the course of study, and by the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Education (AVMA-COE).
- Our veterinary school graduates can practice in all 50 States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
- Students spend 28 months on the RUSVM campus in St. Kitts and then return to the US for the clinical portion of the program.
- The campus in St. Kitts has the latest in educational technology. Classrooms are equipped with numerous flat panel plasma screens and students enjoy wireless internet capability anywhere on campus.
- For the clinical portion of the program conducted in the US, RUSVM is affiliated with 22 US schools of veterinary medicine.
- RUSVM starts three classes a year in September, January and May. And with no summer break, students finish the programs in less time than they would in the US.
- There are currently 2,500 RUSVM alumni.
